Illinois to Exhibit at WETEX 2015 in Dubai
The Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity will have a booth in the US Pavilion at WETEX 2015 (www.wetex.ae), the annual conference and exhibition in Dubai covering the water, energy, technology and environment sectors. Six Illinois companies will be exhibiting in a 72 sqm space near the entrance to one of the exhibition halls. EDI Vice-President Michael Platt will be on hand to help administer the booth and has been responsible for scheduling one-on-one meetings for the Illinois companies with local firms. The six company representatives will also tour a water processing facility in Dubai and hear an economic briefing from local US Commercial Service staff. EDI represents the trade and investment interests of Illinois in the region.
US Visit Planned
EDI President Sherwin Pomerantz and Vice-President Jonathan Sternberg will be in the US for two weeks in April for the annual spring visit to the company’s clients there. Stops include Indianapolis, Chicago, Santa Fe, Oklahoma City, Detroit, Philadelphia, Harrisburg and Wilmington, Delaware as well. EDI represents the trade and investment interests of these cities’ respective states in the region.
French Academics to Visit Israel
In mid-May, a group of French academics will visit Israel under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. EDI, as a certified vendor to the Ministry, will plan the visit and accompany the group while in Israel, as they meet with their counterparts throughout the country.
Argentinian Rectors Visit Israel
During the week of March 1st, 16 Rectors from Argentinian universities visited Israel under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The purpose of the visit was to learn more about how Israeli universities operate and whether there are opportunities for cooperation between the groups in both countries. EDI is a certified service provider to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was responsible for planning the visit and accompanying the group during their week in the country.
Delaware Exhibits at ARABLAB 2015 in Dubai
EDI was in Dubai from March 23-26 to manage the State of Delaware’s booth at ARABLAB 2015, focused on analytical and medical laboratory equipment and instrumentation. ARABLAB is the largest technology show serving the Middle East & Africa, and it is the number one technology showpiece for the Indian Sub-Continent. EDI’s Trade Director, Seth Vogelman, administered the booth along with David Mathé, Delaware’s International Trade Director. EDI represents the trade and investment interests of Delaware in the region.
