Illinois Exhibits at WETEX 2015 in Dubai

The Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity hosted a booth in the US Pavilion at WETEX 2015, the Middle East region’s largest exhibition for the water, energy, and environmental technology industries. The event was held from April 21-23 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Six Illinois companies exhibited in a 72 sqm space at the entrance to the exhibit hall. EDI Vice President Michael Platt administered the booth on-site in Dubai and was responsible for arranging one-on-one meetings during the days of the exhibition. The Illinois company representatives also toured the DUBAL Desalination Plant in the Jebel Ali Free Zone and received an regional economic briefing from EDI and local US Commercial Service staff. EDI represents the trade and investment interests of Illinois throughout the Middle East region.

US Visit in April

EDI President Sherwin Pomerantz and Vice President Jonathan Sternberg were in the US for two weeks in April for the firm’s annual spring visit to the company’s clients there. Stops included Indianapolis, Chicago, Santa Fe, Oklahoma City, Detroit, Philadelphia, Harrisburg and Wilmington, Delaware as well. EDI represents the trade and investment interests of these states in the Middle East region.

French Academics to Visit Israel

In mid-May, a group of French academics will visit Israel under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. EDI, as a certified vendor to the Ministry, will plan the program and accompany the group during their visit, as they meet with their counterparts throughout the country.

Argentinian University Faculty Visits Israel

Representatives of the University of San Martin in Argentina will be in Israel during the week of May 1st to meet with local university officials. EDI was engaged by the university to organize their schedule and arrange meetings during their few days in Israel.
